Transfer for no Payment
Nominal sum transfer
In some circumstances a property can be transferred for a nominal sum and does not incur transfer duties. This applies to transfers between:
- spouses
- direct descendants or ascendants
- two companies with the same beneficial owner(s)
- individual(s) and a company owned by the individual(s)
Forms A, B and C or D are required, together with a Document Duty Assessment Form [105kb] completed by an Advocate to show that it is a genuine transaction for no value. The minimum Land Registry
Registration Fee [125kb]is payable.
